Gaganachukki Waterfalls

A visit to Gaganachukki waterfalls – one could glimpse at the power generating station on the way there.- 14 kms away from Georgia sunshine village.

Barachukki Waterfalls

Further from Gaganchukki (approx 14 kms) is the Barachukki waterfalls. Here one can go right to the bottom of the falls, have a dip in the lagoon formed due to the water falling or just take a ride in a coracle which will have to be paid for. Charges are nominal.

Mysore Zoo

Mysore Zoo was started in 1892 on 10 acres (4.0 ha) of the summer palace of Maharaja Sri Chamaraja Wodeyar, and was originally called the Palace Zoo. The zoo was originally set up by G.H. Krumbeigal, a German landscaper and horticulturist. Over the next 10 years the zoo was expanded to 45 acres (18 ha) with spacious enclosures that are still in use. The zoo was opened to the public in 1902.

Mysore Palace

On the tour to Mysore you can visit the Somnathpur temples build in 13 A.D. There is the Mysore Palace, the Bird Sanctuary, Brindavan Gardens, Chamundi hills & the famous Dussehra festival held in October/November and Srirangapatnam. Mysore is also famous for its Indian silk & Sandalwood handicrafts. It is at a distance of 61kms.

Talakadu

Talakadu is situated on the banks of the river Cauvery 30 kms away from us. The place has buried temples of the Hoysala Dynasty dating back to 12th century A.D. The banks of the river here are sandy resembling an inland seashore. The water level during summer is not more than chest deep and is quite an attraction for many. People come here to enjoy coracle rides as well.
